GSDA Scholarship Winner 2009

Our 2009 GSDA Scholarship winner is Aleysa Oleynik.  Aleysa graduated from the ExMet Program at WSU and will be completing the WSU Coordinated Program in Dietetics to become a Registered Dietitian.  Aleysa volunteers at the Women’s & Children’s Free Restaurant and was recently appointed as the ADA 2009-2010 Student Council Liaison for Washington State University!  Aleysa is in the final stages of completing an application for the Peace Corps and plans to pursue further education by obtaining a Master’s Degree. Aleysa’s references highlight her leadership skills, her academic abilities and her community involvement.  The GSDA congratulates Aleysa and wishes her continued success.



GSDA Scholarship Opportunity

The Greater Spokane Dietetics Association is pleased to announce the opportunity for a $500 scholarship for eligible Washington State University and University of Idaho students. The funds available are to assist a student who is pursuing a career in dietetics and will be a senior in the fall of 2010.

Scholarship criteria include:

1) Student must be actively pursuing a dietetics degree from WSU or U of I.
2) Student must be enrolled in a dietetics program for Fall Semester, 2010 and be a senior.
3) Student must possess qualities and characteristics that will benefit the field of dietetics.

Application Materials

1) A letter of intent including future educational and professional plans.
2) Student's resume.
3) Two (2) letters of recommendation.

Application information will be sent to the Dietetic Program Directors at WSU and U of I by April 15, 2010.
Students can obtain information from their program director or can contact the GSDA Professional Issues Chair directly at the number listed below.
Deadline for application receipt is May 31, 2010.
