Don't miss this exciting opportunity for dietitians to market their services:

Pediatric Weight Management Resource List for Primary Providers

Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center is sponsoring a workshop on October 2, 2004 entitled Pediatric Weight Management: Skills and Resources for Providers. This workshop is aimed at primary care medical providers. One of the goals of the workshop is to link providers from across Washington State with weight management resources in their community. Washington State PNPG members were identified as valuable and reliable nutrition resources in the state.

We would like to develop a resource list to provide and discuss and the conference. This is an exciting opportunity for WA-PNPG members and dietitians across the Northwest to market their services!

Our aim is to identify

  • people who have specific training in working with children, ultimately the ADA Certificate in Pediatric Weight Management. (If you are unfamiliar with this certification, please be sure to check into it on the ADA Web site - two RDs from Seattle Children's Hospital completed the certification process in March 2004 and found it to be excellent.)
  • RDs who have worked successfully with children and families in the area of weight management.

If you meet these criteria, we would like to add you to our resource list. Please provide the following information*:

  • Name
  • Credentials
  • Description of any specialized training in pediatric weight management
  • ADA Certificate of Pediatric Weight Managment
  • Other training
  • Experience
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Fax
  • Email
  • Description of your practice, including location, philosophy, affiliation
  • Number of years working with children

* We reserve the right to edit information as needed.

Sarah Zarelli, RD will be available at a round table discussion to provide this resource list to primary care providers and represent the Greater Seattle Dietetic Association (GSDA) as one of several food and nutrition resources in the Seattle area. Watch for similar workshops around the state in the future. (Contact Alicia Dixon Docter for more information) This information will also be posted on the WSDA/GSDA websites.

Please send information to sarah.zarelli@seattlechildrens.org by September 1, 2004.

Please direct any questions to alicia.docter@seattlechildrens.org.
