WIC Announcement:
On October 1, 2009 the Washington State WIC Nutrition Program will have a new approved food list. This new list is based on recent changes in federal laws that: 1) align WIC foods with national dietary recommendations, 2) promote and support breastfeeding, 3) increase the variety of foods available to WIC clients and 4) accommodate cultural food preferences. Along with the expanded list of foods, new requirements for prescribing foods and formulas are coming.
